Welcome to the official site of the Marshall County, Alabama GIS. We have redeveloped this site to help provided you with a better understanding of how to use the GIS service. A lot of people are willing to know how to use this service and just need some information to help guide them along the way. The website will be packed full of information that will help guide you through the way the GIS viewer works. Also if there is any information that is not listed on this website let us know and we will try to get the information for you by email and make sure that we place it on our website.

Map Viewer not Working

If you are having problems with your map viewer or just cannot get it to work properly. Then check to make sure you have done what is in the list below. If you have tried all of that then email us at gistech@marshallco.org or go to the link Tutorial for more information.

Trusted Site – If you use our service all the time you might want to make www.marshallgis.org a trusted site. If you do not know how to make a trusted site then just click the link [more info].

Disable Pop-Ups – Even if you do make our site a trusted site you may still have some external pop-up blockers on your browser. For instance you may have a pop-up blocker like Google Toolbar or Yahoo Toolbar. If you do not know how to disable these then please click on [more info].

Can’t See Map – If you have problem not being able to see the map then email us at gistech@marshallco.org.

GIS Viewer Update

For all the people that use our product or new people that are just starting and do not know, we now have color aerials available. We also have Census Population (2000) data available in the form of text and map based.

That GIS viewer now has a lot of information added on to it, making it more complex then usual. If you click on the link for Tutorials at the top it will help guide you threw in helping you understand how it all works.

GIS Connection to Land Lookup

You now have a choice in what service you would like to use. If you wanted to use Land Lookup because you don’t need any visual data only text based, then Land Lookup is a great tool for you. Let’s say that you needed visual printouts and you also need the same data that came from Land Lookup then you are safe. The GIS viewer now is connected to land lookup. If you want to know how to access this information from the GIS viewer then go to the top and click on the link that says GIS Help.
